SEPTIC SYSTEM SERVICES
SEPTIC TANK FILTERS
All septic systems that have been installed in Wisconsin since 2000 , (and many that were installed before the mandatory time), have been required to have an effluent filter in the system prior to the distribution or leaching area. These filters have to be removed, cleaned & reinstalled when servicing the septic system. Some times the filter may plug before the septic system is due to be serviced. If this happens, the tank that the filter is located in will have to be pumped down before the filter can be removed, to keep the scum from overflowing out when removing the filter.
Cleaning the filter, making sure the waste goes back into the tank & not on the lawn
Cleaning the filter
Having to turn the filter at all angles to remove sludge
The filter properly installed back in the housing (some do not make sure this happens, & then the filter is by passed)
